2017 saw significant change to our office staff with a brand-new concept of a Central Booking Team and the start of our recruitment drive to find new staff to join our already growing teams at our venues and events. It was a busy year and with the help of a great team we held interviews and open days throughout London and the surrounding areas as well as at our Regional centres in Cardiff and Leeds.
Cheree Roy, Head of Human Resources commented, “as a company we are growing and as we grow we need new staff to join our family, we had a target for the year and with the help of existing staff recommending and very successful open days we met and surpassed our target, recruiting over 300 which was a great year for recruitment!” Cheree was rewarded with higher targets for 2018 (!) something that we know she will take in her stride.
A.P. Security has secured funding to provide NVQ2 in Spectators Safety training available for all new staff and have partnered up with a new training provider, based in London with a venue in Northwest London to hold courses. We are very keen to offer any training we can to new and existing staff; both the mandatory NVQ Level 2 and Customer Care bolt-on as well as other accredited and in-house courses in support of the Company’s Career Path.
“It’s vital that training and development is available to all” continues Cheree, “we are dedicated to ensuring that all our staff, from new entrants to seasoned veterans have the opportunity to develop new skills in support of their ever-increasing experience.”
Significantly, it’s the staff members themselves who have been one of our greatest assets in spreading the word. What better way to hear about a new job, but from someone who is working and enjoying what they do; for us it is great to hear staff recommending friends and family it shows what we are doing is working.
Open Days are planned every month at various locations in and around London whilst the regional offices, now, of course, including our new Southampton office, will also be focussing on recruitment in the coming months. A.P. is proud to have one of the largest staff bases in the UK; the management of it is no easy task, but with Cheree and her team, supported by the regions, working tirelessly to recruit the right people to join A.P. we feel we are in safe hands.
